Due to the strong winds caused by storm Pia, more than 200 flights have been canceled. Travelers should therefore expect delays and cancellations throughout the day. This applies to both arriving and departing flights.
Because wind speeds of around 50 kilometres per hour are expected from the west with gusts of up to 90 kilometres per hour, take-off and landing will only be possible on the Buitenveldertbaan Runway from noon.
The predicted strong winds may also have an impact on the handling of the aircraft on the ground. For safety reasons, this cannot always be done as normal with such strong winds, resulting in possible disruptions in the flight schedule for both departing and arriving flights.
Schiphol therefore advises travellers to check the current flight information before departure. This can be done on Schiphol.nl or in their app.
