This summer, Corendon will also fly from Maastricht Aachen Airport to Mallorca and Malaga in Spain. The Spanish island and the seaside resort on the Costa del Sol will be added to the existing offer from Limburg Airport. These flights will be operated with an Airbus A320. Corendon will station the aircraft at Maastricht Aachen Airline for the summer months. Corendon will fly weekly to Malaga on Sundays from 26 May and to Mallorca every Wednesday from 5 June. Both until mid-August. Passengers flying from Maastricht to this or Corendon’s other destinations can park for free in the new car park that will open on 1 June. Gunay Uslu, CEO of Corendon, is pleased with the addition of these Spanish destinations. “We notice that bookings from Maastricht Aachen Airport are going well. Last year, bookings from Limburg airport lagged slightly behind compared to other regional airports due to renovation work on the runway. This year it looks very different with new offers from Maastricht, and of course our Belgian travellers can also use this regional airport. ́ With these holiday destinations, Corendon is meeting the long-cherished wishes of many Limburg holidaymakers, says Dean Boljuncic, Head of commercial development at Maastricht Aachen Airport. ́According to our data, both destinations are high on the wish list of people living in the (Eu)region. For example, between October 2022 and 2023, residents of the Euregio searched no less than 315,852 times for airline tickets to Malaga and more than 200,000 times for Mallorca. This makes Malaga the most searched destination and Mallorca is number 5. By offering these two popular destinations, we are meeting the regional demand for holiday destinations even more. A great development that we will certainly continue. Various discussions are ongoing about this with our current partners and possible new partners.’ In addition to the new flights to Mallorca and Malaga, Corendon also flies from Maastricht to Antalya, Burgas, Crete and Zakynthos.
