The cruise ship with more than 3,000 people on board that was not allowed to dock at Mauritius has been given permission to visit the East African island. After about 15 passengers on board had reported with gastrointestinal complaints, the authorities were afraid that they were infected with cholera. After investigation, this does not appear to be the case. It’s a common stomach flu. The passengers have recovered. The Norwegian Dawn has now set course for Mauritius, where it was originally scheduled to dock on Sunday. Local authorities are cautious as Southern Africa is currently experiencing one of the most severe cholera outbreaks in years.
