2023 is a great year for Sunny Cars. The car rental specialist recorded 30 percent more bookings this year than last year. In fact, more bookings were counted in August than the same month a year ago. Nearly two-thirds of bookings in August were short-term departures; August or September. The Sunny Cars financial year runs until 31 October. Marco Ammerlaan, sales director for the Netherlands, Belgium and France of Sunny Cars, said this on Saturday at the start of the Smile Society Event for the best-booking agents. More than 60 participants had come to Hoogblokland in the Alblasserwaard (South Holland) for a puzzle tour with old-timers. With old Volkswagen vans, nostalgic Volkswagen Beetles and the Citroën 2CV, better known as the ugly duck, the group drove through the green polder landscape. The event was all-inclusive, just like the car rental from Sunny Cars. Upon arrival, coffee and tea were ready, followed by a sandwich lunch. Halfway through the trip there was a stop on a terrace by the water, for drinks and snacks. After the award ceremony on arrival, hamburgers and fries were served from a food truck.
