Also this season, Transavia will fly with a fully Sunweb branded aircraft. The aircraft with registration number PH-HXA has recently undergone a metamorphosis in the Transavia hangar, where it has been given a Sunweb look and feel. The colourful aircraft emphasizes the ongoing collaboration between Transavia and Sunweb, the two partners say. The Sunweb aircraft made its first flight to Heraklion (Crete), Sunweb’s largest destination, at the end of last week. In addition, the aircraft will fly to Hurghada, Lanzarote and various Greek islands such as Zakynthos, Karpathos, Lesbos and Kefalonia this summer. Every season, Transavia ensures that an aircraft with Sunweb stickers operates from Schiphol. Sunweb is very pleased with this eye-catcher. “Perhaps this year will be the last time a Boeing 737-800, as Transavia is increasingly switching to the Airbus, which consumes less fuel per passenger and is quieter,” says Martine Langerak, Head of Communications & PR at Sunweb Group. ‘And we’re happy with that. Let’s hope that this will be taken into account in the government’s decision to maintain the night slots so that Transavia can operate enough flights per day and so that airline tickets remain affordable for all Dutch citizens.’
