
Booking Holdings, the parent company of Booking com, among others, has started the 2024 financial year better than it had expected. In the first quarter of the year, the company recorded sales of 4.4 billion dollars, or just over 4 billion euros (a plus of 17 percent compared to the first quarter of 2023). Profit before tax (Ebitda) was 898 million euros (an increase of 53 percent). CEO Glenn Fogel says in a press release that he is delighted. He speaks of ‘a strong start to the year’. Fogel is signaling a higher frequency of travel and an increasing number of travelers reaching out to the Genius loyalty program.
