Germany’s Münster-Osnabrück border airport has a busy year ahead of it, with new airlines and flight connections for next summer and next winter season. Holiday flyer Condor has started flights to Mallorca. The German airline, known for its colourfully striped aircraft, flies five times a week from Münster-Osnabrück to the popular holiday island. This means that Palma de Mallorca will be served a total of six times a week from the airport. Ryanair Ryanair has added a new destination from Münster-Osnabrück to its network with Alicante. The route is flown twice a week, on Tuesdays and Sundays. The flights to Alicante are operated all year round, including winter. The Irish low-cost carrier now flies to four destinations from Münster-Osnabrück: Alicante, Corfu, Palma and Zadar. Marabu Marabu, a sister company of Condor, started flights to Heraklion (Crete) from Münster-Osnabrück in May. There are flights twice a week. Marabu Airlines is based in Estonia and is looking to expand strongly. All flights are operated in codeshare with Condor, so the flights can be booked through Condor, but also through all tour operators. The first flight to Palma took place over the Whitsun weekend and was operated with an Airbus A320. Sundair At the start of the summer season, winter is also available from Münster-Osnabrück. The German Sundair will start flights to Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Tenerife and Hurghada (Egypt) in November. All these destinations are served twice a week with an Airbus A319. The flight schedule runs through April 2025. Turkey’s Mavi Gök Airlines (MGA) now also flies directly from Münster-Osnabrück to Antalya, with three flights a week. Lufthansa This year, Lufthansa is celebrating 40 years of scheduled service to Munich from Münster-Osnabrück. The airline started in May 1984 with a turboprop of the type Jetstream 31, with 18 seats from subsidiary DLT (now Lufthansa CityLine) between Münster-Osnabrück and Munich. Since that time, the route has continued without interruption. Currently, there are four flights a day with an Airbus A319 and a Canadair Jet 900. That equates to more than 150,000 passengers per year. Photo: Condor’s first flight to Palma de Mallorca.
