Frank Oostdam was officially re-elected on Friday for a new two-year term as chairman of ECTAA, the European umbrella organization of travel industry organizations. This happened during the 128th bi-annual meeting of ECTAA in Brasov, Romania, which is being held today. Oostdam’s reappointment was already certain as no opposing candidates had come forward.
‘I am very honoured to be able to run for a second term as chairman of ECTAA on behalf of the ANVR. A new European Parliament, new Commissioners and a host of challenges at European level. I can put my energy into that,’ says Oostdam. ‘We are pleased that we will be able to make use of Frank’s efforts as chairman of ECTAA for the next two years, even now that he will soon be stepping down as director of the ANVR,’ says Frank Radstake, who will soon succeed Oostdam as director of the ANVR. “With the ongoing revision of the Package Travel Directive, passenger rights regulations and the need for ambitious legislation in the field of multimodal travel, many important things are once again about to happen from Brussels until 2026.” (Archive photo TravMagazine/Nils van Houts).
