
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will add the 21st direct destination to North America to its network in the coming winter season. It is Portland, (Oregon) in the northwest of the US. As of 27 October, KLM will operate three times a week (Tuesday, Friday and Sunday) in winter and five times a week in summer (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday) between Amsterdam and Portland. The Boeing 787-9 flights offer 30 World Business Class seats, 21 Premium Comfort Class seats and 224 Economy Class seats. The new KLM flights will replace Delta Air Lines’ scheduled service on this route. Delta Air Lines is a partner in the transatlantic joint venture with KLM. Delta Air Lines has flown between Amsterdam and Portland for 15 years. The winter flight schedule is as follows: KL615 will depart from Schiphol at 10:25 a.m. and arrive at Portland International Airport (PDX) at 11:25 a.m. local time. KL616 departs Portland International Airport at 13:25 local time and arrives at Schiphol at 07:50 local time the next day. The summer flight schedule (from 2025) is as follows: KL615 will depart from Schiphol at 10:40 a.m. and arrive at Portland International Airport at 11:30 a.m. local time. KL616 departs Portland International Airport at 13:30 local time and arrives at Schiphol the next day at 07:55 local time. Portland is the capital of the state of Oregon and has a strong tourism sector throughout the year, including through nature parks such as Mt. Hood, Columbia River Gorge and Forest Park. Also, Portland is known for its culinary scene. In addition, it is a major business destination, with the presence of leading companies in the sportswear, chip, automotive, and health industries.
