A Boeing of the American United Airlines has lost another wheel during take-off. That happened on a flight from Los Angeles to Denver. The wheel of the Boeing 757 became detached from the landing gear shortly after takeoff. The plane with 174 passengers and 7 crew members on board was able to land safely in Denver a few hours later. The wheel was later recovered in Los Angeles. No one was injured in the incident. It is the second time this year that a United Airlines Boeing has lost a wheel during a flight. In March, a Boeing 777 also lost a wheel while departing from San Francisco. Boeing has faced a series of setbacks in recent years, serious incidents. At the beginning of this year, an Alaska Airlines plane lost part of its fuselage during a flight. The Boeing 737 MAX had to be grounded worldwide in March 2019 after two crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia in 2018 and 2019 killed a total of 346 passengers. Earlier this week, it became clear that Boeing will have to pay an additional $243 million fine for failing to meet the terms of an earlier $2.5 billion settlement over the accidents. According to the U.S. Justice Department, the new incidents are proof that Boeing has not taken sufficient additional safety measures. United Airlines has also been dealing with incidents for some time. In addition to the falling wheel from earlier year, there were some fires on board and parts that did not function properly.
