
Turkey received almost 14 percent more visitors in the first six months of this year than in the first half of last year.
The number has risen to 26.1 million.
Tourism revenue in the same period grew 9.3 percent to $23.7 billion.
Visitors spend an average of $98 per day.
Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism presented the results of the first half of 2024 at a press conference in Istanbul.
According to the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, the results show that Turkey is on track to meet its annual goal of 60 million visitors and $60 billion in revenue.
Turkey’s largest markets (Russia, Germany and the United Kingdom) continue to grow.
Popular tourist cities include Antalya, Istanbul, Izmir, and Muğla.
The Dutch market also showed strong growth.
In the first six months of this year, 510,870 Dutch people visited the holiday destination.
