The Calamity Committee has determined a calamity for Crete with a situation that can be paid out.
This will be done retroactively with effect from 11 September 2024.
The determination is made in response to the forest fires in the northwest of Crete.
Tour operators who were able to carry out the travel agreement as planned for bookings to affected areas in Crete, which had already started on 11 September and were unable to perform the travel agreement as planned due to the natural disaster, may be able to obtain reimbursement of the costs of this from the Calamity Fund for their travellers.
