
Following the eruption of the Lewotobi volcano, on the Indonesian island of Flores, the Calamity Commission has determined a calamity and a situation that can be paid out.
The Calamity Committee sees the volcanic eruption as a natural disaster.
The benefitable situation applies as of 9 September this year.
Tour operators who were unable to execute their travel agreement according to program due to the natural disaster may be able to get the costs reimbursed for their travelers from the Calamity Fund.
The airports of Ende and Maumere were temporarily closed due to ash particles in the air.
Trips were adjusted.
As a result, travel companies were unable to meet their obligations to their passengers.
