Together with more than 750 partners from Belgium, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Switzerland, among others, Sunny Cars celebrated its 33rd anniversary on Thursday evening in Munich.
Among them was a delegation of partners from the Netherlands, who traveled to the hometown of Sunny Cars together with the management and sales team of the car rental specialist.
All things considered, it was also about the postponed celebration of the 30th anniversary, which had to be cancelled due to corona.
The Dutch partners were flown in from Amsterdam.
As usual with Sunny Cars, the two-day trip was on an all-inclusive basis, including valet parking at P6 at Schiphol.
Together with Belgian colleagues, they were introduced to Munich through a short day programme.
There was a lunch in the garden of Schloss Nymphenburg, which was no punishment at a temperature of 27 degrees, followed by a visit to BMW Welt in the heart of Munich.
In the evening, a big party awaited the partners in the trendy Club P1, which took place outdoors due to the tropical temperature in Munich.
In addition to partners from various markets, 120 of the total of 160 Sunny Cars employees were also present to celebrate the anniversary.
The delegation with partners from the Netherlands consisted of Jeroen Martron (Airtrade), Frank Radstake (ANVR), Sjoerd de Kort (Corendon), Paul van Laarhoven (de Jong Intra Vakanties), Arnoud Meijer (DTA), Hugo van Drie (Nordic), Hubert van Velden (Prijsvrij/D-reizen), Erik Jan Reuver (SGR), Nick de Leeuw (SGR), Gerdien Elkink (Sunweb) and Hans van Hoffen (dé Vakantiediscounter).
On behalf of Sunny Cars Netherlands, Hans Knottnerus (managing director Belgium, the Netherlands and France) and the sales team travelled with Fieneke van Heusden-Bosters, Annemiek Hoek, sales director Marco Ammerlaan, Rik Sluiter and Stein Pelt.

He describes the successful working method of the car rental specialist as ‘unburdening in combination with a focus on the good relationship within good commercial conditions’.
Martron: ‘Sunny Cars is reliable, transparent and you will never be faced with surprises.’ Paul van Laarhoven, tour operating manager at de Jong Intra Vakanties, agrees.
‘It’s a no-nonsense company, with basically a simple product, which is still growing fast with us. Thanks to the all-inclusive concept, you never have any hassle, or rather: our customers never have any hassle. The customer is well informed and there are rarely, if ever, complaints. If that does happen, it will be solved quickly.’ Photo: The management team of Sunny Cars (from left to right): Kai Sannwald, Hans Knottnerus, Detlef Hoffmann and Thorsten Lehmann. In the run-up to the anniversary celebrations, TravMagazine recently had an interview with Kai Sannwald
(57), founder (in 1991) and owner of Sunny Cars. With his all-inclusive concept, he built Sunny Cars into a strong player in various markets and even the market leader in the Netherlands. When asked about the reason for the success, he says: “Our product meets the customer’s need for ‘no hassle’, with the aim of absolute customer satisfaction.” Bookings at Sunny Cars are currently well ahead of last year, says Hans Knottnerus. “We hope to get close to one million bookings for Sunny Cars as a whole this year. We would never have been able to achieve this thanks to the good cooperation with our partners at home and abroad.’ Photo: Partners from Belgium and the Netherlands with the Sunny Cars team in BMW Welt.
