The fully renovated Air & Rail Terminal of Air France and KLM was officially inaugurated on Tuesday by Marjan Rintel, CEO of KLM, Bas Gerressen (Director KLM Netherlands and SVP Benelux Air France KLM), Pieter Jan Kleiweg de Zwaan, Permanent Representative of the Netherlands to the EU and François Sénémaud, French Ambassador to Belgium. The Air&Rail Terminal can be found at Brussels-Midi station. Since the launch of the Air&Rail service between Belgium, France and the Netherlands in March 2001, the service has more than 4,500,000 seats on 93,000 high-speed trains. “We remain fully committed to a smooth customer journey, making the train an increasingly better alternative to short-haul flights within Europe. Customers can choose from more than 300 destinations worldwide via Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Schiphol,” said Marjan Rintel, CEO of KLM. Air France and KLM offer their customers to and from Belgium a fully integrated service, allowing them to combine their train and air journeys in the same booking. Thanks to the Air&Rail offer, passengers have a single booking for their entire journey and a guaranteed seat on the next available flight or train, free of charge, if their flight or train is delayed. Special teams help Air France and KLM passengers in the stations. Air France customers with a connection in Paris-Charles de Gaulle also benefit from the check-through of their baggage from Brussels-Midi station to the final destination of their journey. KLM customers benefit from the SkyPriorty in transit at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. This summer, a 7-day high-speed service will be added on the route between Brussels-Midi and Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
