The Emergency Committee has determined a calamity following the recent forest fires in the city of Jasper and Jasper National Park (Canada).
This calamity, based on a natural disaster, applies from July 22, 2024 to those parts of Jasper and Jasper National Park that were affected by wildfires.
These are those parts of Jasper and Jasper National Park where tour operators participating in the fund were no longer able to fulfil their obligations under the travel contract as a result of forest fires, and the resulting danger to consumers and/or infrastructure affected by them.
On the basis of the factual situation as given by the participating tour operators concerned, the office of the Calamity Fund will determine whether, and if so where and until when there was a situation that was eligible for payment. (Photo by Shutterstock, for illustration).
