Corendon has entered into a partnership with dnata (ground handling/airport services/trainer, among others) to educate and train aircrews. To this end, the two companies share a renovated training center in Hoofddorp, which was inaugurated on Wednesday. Günay Uslu (CEO of Corendon) and Jan van Anrooy (Managing Director of dnata Netherlands) spoke at the opening of ‘a training centre 2.0’. Corendon trains its cabin crew and flight crew in the building. Dnata uses the site for training ground staff. The training covers all elements that (future) aircrew may have to deal with, from medical emergencies on board to dealing with aggressive customers.
Dealing with difficult customers is also addressed in the training for ground staff. For example, four lifelike check-in desks have been recreated in a training room where real-life situations are re-enacted during training sessions, with actors in the role of difficult customers. The training ensures that aviation personnel, both on the ground and in the air, are prepared for their task. With the collaboration in the renovated training centre in Hoofddorp, both companies can not only work more efficiently, but the quality of service will also be raised to a higher level, say Uslu and Van Anrooy. A merger of the study programmes is not ruled out in the long term. Photo: Günay Uslu and Jan van Anrooy (Photo TravMagazine).
