The German e-hoi, owner of Zeetours, Cruise Travel, Cruisewinkel and Wondercruises, among others, has acquired the luxury cruise company Un Mundo de Cruceros. With this, the Frankfurt-based company enters the cruise market in Spain and Portugal. The new subsidiary is mainly active in the luxury sector. After strong growth in the Swiss, Dutch, Belgian and German cruise markets over the past two years, e-hoi is entering new source markets. Un Mundo de Cruceros, based in Madrid, Barcelona and Lisbon, has been part of the group since January 17, 2024, the company announced. According to e-hoi, Un Mundo de Cruceros is a specialist in ultra-luxury cruises. The specialist knowledge and industry knowledge of the employees of the Spanish/Portuguese company are seen as an important addition. “Building on Un Mundo de Cruceros’ experience in selling ultra-luxury cruises, e-hoi aims to roll out a new strategy for luxury cruises in the European market,” says the German company. E-hoi takes over both the B2B and B2C activities of Starclass Cruises, Un Mundo de Cruceros’ own luxury cruise brand. “Spanish consumers like to book their cruise holidays through travel agencies, so we are very much looking forward to working closely with Un Mundo’s travel agency partners,” says Detlev Schäferjohann, the CEO of e-hoi. Over the past decades, Un Mundo de Cruceros has built up close partnerships with all tour operators in Spain and Portugal. The integration of Un Mundo into the online tech ecosystem of e-hoi will allow the Spanish/Portuguese company to benefit from the progress that e-hoi has made in recent years, says CEO Schäferjohann. He mentions an improved booking platform, the expansion of the cruise portfolio, the introduction of dynamic packages, and the development of tailor-made travel packages. (Photo Shutterstock).
