US airline JetBlue has not been allocated any slots for the 2024 summer season, slot coordinator ACNL reported Thursday. The airline now flies to both New York JFK and Boston. Airlines that do have historic rights will receive 3.1% fewer slots than before, ACNL director Hugo Thomassen told Reuters, as the Dutch government presses ahead with controversial plans to limit the number of flights to and from the airport to reduce noise pollution. American airline JetBlue filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Transportation in September against the Netherlands and the European Union over plans to restrict traffic at Schiphol, claiming they violate the U.S.-EU air transport agreement. Last month, it urged the same department to ban Air France’s KLM from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport in response the plans. (sources, Yahoo Finance, Reuters)
