Despite the rain, KLM can look back on a more than successful Jij&KLM Late Summer Party, which was held on Tuesday evening at Strand Zuid in Amsterdam.
The guest list included the names of 475 travel agents.
There could easily have been many more, because there was a lot of interest, but the capacity of the location at the RAI did not allow for that.
Shortly after the reception time at half past six in the afternoon, it was already very busy.
The program didn’t lie.
An extensive dinner buffet, plenty to drink, a performance by Flemming (known from the song Amsterdam, among other things) and a closing award ceremony where a seven-day trip to Aruba was raffled, of course with KLM.
According to Lisette Klomp Bueters, Director Leisure Sales Netherlands at KLM, the Jij&KLM Nazomerfeest is more than just a thank you to the travel agent.
“It’s a recognition for the agent, for what the agent does for us and for our partnership.” According to Klomp Bueters, hostess and host of the event together with Raymond Reedijk (Sales Director Business KLM Netherlands), the agent/retail is still the most important sales channel for KLM.
Both leisure agents and business travel agents were present at the event, as the strict separation between the two is becoming increasingly blurred in practice.
‘Business travel agents also regularly book a nice holiday for their business clients, while there are ZRAs that book business clients in addition to holidays.’ The rain didn’t bother the visitors.
The long buffets were set up in the restaurant, while it was also dry outside between the standing tables thanks to the large umbrellas that spanned the entire terrace. Photo: Lisette Klomp Bueters and Raymond Reedijk, the hostess and host of the Jij&KLM Nazomerfeest. (Photo: TravMagazine).
