Golf Plaisir, the largest provider of golf trips in the Nordic countries, is taking its first steps on the Dutch market. The tour operator, which organises around 16,000 golf trips a year, has joined forces with a brand new vacancy for Business Partner / Specialist orienting on the Dutch product. The ambition is to be officially live and bookable from next spring. The company is not a completely new player here, as Golf Plaisir is part of one of the largest tourism groups in Europe, DER Touristik Group. This includes brands such as Koning Aap, Shoestring and the recently discussed sun travel specialist Apollo Reizen, all with offices in Duivendrecht. We speak briefly with Golf Plaisir’s CEO, Peter Browall, about the company’s ambitions and to get a better idea of their product. ‘In Scandinavia we are a trusted provider with over thirty years of experience, but the Netherlands is a new market for us. We certainly see that there is a lot of enthusiasm for golf in the Netherlands and that it is a market with a lot of potential.’ Browall says that it is certainly likely that Golf Plaisir will expand to other surrounding countries in the future.
Browall: ‘One of the things that makes us unique is our fully dynamic website, on which customers can book and reserve the flight, the hotel and tee times; So far, this has been unique in this market. You don’t have to go to external websites, but you can easily record everything in one place. That way, after you arrive at your destination, you can immediately see what time you can go to which lane.’ What the exact offer and product of Golf Plaisir will look like in the Netherlands still depends a bit on the partner to which the tour operator will commit. On the Swedish website (a Dutch website is on the way) you can quickly find an overview of the trips, such as weekly tours, theme tours, pro-tours, dynamic packaging and long-term stays, in Southern Europe, North Africa and the United Arab Emirates. Regarding future collaboration with retail, Browall says it is ‘absolutely open to that’. Browall: ‘In the Netherlands we are starting from scratch, and we hope that a suitable candidate, and of course a golf enthusiast himself, recognizes himself in the profile and wants to embark on this great journey within the Dutch market with us.’ For more information or contact, please send an email to info@golfplaisir.nl
