The board of the ANVR has chosen Sara Monnik as the new Young Talent at the board table.
Monnik, Head of People & Client Services at Sawadee Reizen, will start on 1 September.
She succeeds Nynke Hoogma (Better Places) who has fulfilled the role of Young Talent at the board table of the ANVR in the past year.
As a board, we think it is extremely important to see the young voice from the sector represented at the table,’ says ANVR chairman Arjan Kers.
‘That’s exactly why we introduced Young Talent at the Table a few years ago. And since then, we have welcomed four outstanding talents to the table. With Sara van Sawadee we have the first anniversary. Every year, many candidates apply for the vacancy. This shows that there is a lot of interest among young people in the sector to think along with the board.’ Sara Monnik is already looking forward to her role within the ANVR board: ‘It is very nice to be able to represent Young ANVR on the board next year. I look forward to expanding my network, making valuable contacts and further expanding the Young ANVR platform. The more young professionals from the industry share their visions and ideas, the better together we can build a dynamic and future-proof travel industry. After all, we are the future of the industry. I’m looking forward to it.’ Nynke Hoogma has enjoyed the role over the past 14 months, she says.
‘Curious, motivated and a little nervous, I joined my first meeting of the ANVR board a year ago. A year later, I pass the baton to Sara with a lot of confidence. I look back on a very fun and educational year in which I had the opportunity to represent the best community of ANVR, Young ANVR. A very nice experience.’ In his recent column in TravMagazine , ANVR director Frank Radstake explained the importance of Young ANVR. (Photo Sara Monnik, LinkedIn).
