The continued growth of tourism has led to falling unemployment rates in Spain.
The unemployment rate fell from 12.3 to 11.3 percent in the second quarter.
This is mainly attributed to the tourism sector.
The services sector recorded the largest decline, with almost 200,000 fewer job seekers than in the first quarter, reports the Spanish statistics office.
According to entrepreneurs in Mallorca, united in Pimem, the good tourist season has been causing falling unemployment rates for months.
The interest group warns, however, that affiliated companies have problems finding qualified personnel.
Until May this year, Great Britain was the most important origin market for the Balearic Islands with more than 6.3 million tourists (a plus of 10.6 percent), followed by France with 4.42 million (plus 13.2 percent) and Germany with 4.41 million visitors (plus 14.7 percent). (Photo Shutterstock).
