The Association of Small-Scale Travel Organizations (VvKR) has a new chairman. Kim Nooyens succeeds Ton Brinkman, who has led the board since March 2017. During the annual members’ day in The Hague, we said goodbye to Brinkman and also to board member Michel Lancee. As a general board member, Helmich Riezebos has taken over Michel’s task. Marleen Nijdam, secretary since 2017, was re-elected for a new term of office. During the General Members’ Meeting (GMM), Kim Nooyens was greeted with applause as the new chairman, which means that the VvKR now has a woman at the helm for the second time. The departure of Ton Brinkman and Michel Lancee was marked by a mix of joy and emotion, which underlined the commitment of the members to the association, writes the VvKR in a statement. Kim Nooyens is enthusiastic about her new role as chairman. ‘I’m especially looking forward to working with all the members. I would like to further develop the VvKR as a quality brand for consumers and ensure that our members are future-proof, especially in the field of sustainability.’ The board says it is looking forward to a bright future under Nooyens’ leadership. The members’ day also included the VvKR congress, where the small-scale travel organizations were given inspiration for a sustainable future. Keynote speakers were Leendert-Jan Visser (director MKB Nederland), Bram Peerlings (Royal Netherlands Aerospace Centre) and Veroniek Maat (Inholland University of Applied Sciences). Caroline de Greeff fulfilled the role of chairman of the day. She is coordinator of the Sustainable working group within the VvKR.
